Saturday was very hot and Sunday was blustery with very heavy showers. This did not deter the festival go-ers, thank goodness. We had made the decision, during thte week, not to take the observation hive as it was much too hot to shut the ladies in. We took an empty hive for Vince to discuss during his two talks he did each day.

There was much interest in our Gift Vouchers for next seasons Bee Keeping Taster Sessions. These are now in production and will be available in the next couple of days.

Sue has also started the production of her Honey soaps! We have a Honey & Oat scrub bar with Rosemary and one with Lavender. Lip balms will be under way shortly. They look and smell wonderful, we have tried a bar and the rest of the family will be getting their samples for testing soon!! Just having to go through all the legal formalitiesthat enable us to sell them at the Farmers Markets.......watch this space!

We will be harvesting more of our honey next week. The ivy is just about to flower so hopefully, we may get a crop of Ivy honey too, which went down very well last season.

We had our last taster session on Saturday 20th August, well the last one for this sesaon! We are now busy harvesting the honey and getting the bees prepared for the winter, BUT, we will definatley be back again in the Spring. We have been pleasantly suprised at how popular these sessions have been, and quite a few of our visitorsare very keen on becoming bee keepers themselves, can only be a good thing!

We are also very busy with our markets and food festivals. This weekend (Bank Holiday weekend) we are at Brogdale Cider Festival in Faversham for the two days, (Saturday & Sunday) . Hopefully taking the observation hive, and Vince is booked in for doing a couple of talks!!! Looking forward to this as it looks a great weekend with lots going on there.

Sunday 11th September we will be attending Chiddingstone Castle Country Fair, another great place to go for a day out with the family. We went as visitors a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. There is a dog show and small holding stalls, terrier racing, clay pigeon shooting, tractors and shopping!!!! Oh yes, and there is a couple of bee keepers with their bees and selling their honey!
